The tube is filled with a water-resistant filling compound and is wrapped with a layer of corrugated steel tape. Between the steel tape and the loose tube there is some water-blocking material to keep the optical cable compact and watertight. Two parallel steel wires are placed at the two sides of the steel tape. The nominal diameter of the steel wire is about 0.9mm. The corrugated steel tape width and thickness are 0.2mm. Steel wire enhances cable’s side pressure and tensile resistance capability; corrugated steel tape armor ensures nice moisture proof. The overall diameter of this central tube optical cable is between 8.0mm to 8.5mm due to the different fiber counts. The sheath of this central loose tube light armored optical cable is PE material. The application of this optical cable is mainly used for small quantity cores optic fiber communication with the max counts 24 cores.
