Application

1. It could be widely used for computer serial ports, industrial communication equipment, PLC use it connect modems, and also to printers, computer mice, data storage, uninterrupted power supplies, and other peripherals. Although RS232 has some disadvantages compared with RS-422 and RS-48, such as rS-232 transmission speed is lower, the maximum cable length is shorter, and the multi-point capability is very limited. Due to RS232 simplicity and its large market share in the past, the RS-232 interface is still widely used in industrial machines, network equipment and scientific instruments which places requiring only simple data transmission.
