There is a steel strength member in the middle of the cable for The center of the optical cable is a steel wire strength member which is covered by PE material occasionally. All the loose tubes are twisted around the central strength member into a round fiber cable core in that sometimes there may need a filler rope in order to complete a circle. Plastic coated steel tape is longitudinally wrapped and extruded with polyethylene sheath to form a cable and PE material for the outside cable sheath. For this type stranded loose tube with steel tape armored optical cable is much more better side crush resistance so it is ideal choice for direct buried working environment. The max cores for the stranded loose tube steel tape armored optical cable are 288cores.
